In February, I represented the NALJA Junior Board at the 2018 Cattle Industry Convention and NCBA Trade Show. This year’s convention was held in Phoenix, Arizona. Phoenix is a unique city, with a diverse cuisine, and beautiful scenery.
I had the chance to attend various seminars and speaking events. My favorite, the Cattlemen’s College featured speakers whose thought provoking sessions left you feeling that you learned something new. Also there was the CattleFax industry seminar and Keynote speakers, Famous Chef, Ree Drummond and Former MLB Pitcher, Jim Abbott.
Perhaps the most popular of the events was the NCBA Trade Show. A collection of vendors advertising: new products, procedures, and themselves. This year’s show held its largest number of vendors ever. At the heart of this was the NALF booth. The booth gave us a chance to showcase the IGS group that includes the Limousin breed. We had the chance to talk with new friends and hand out many Limousin Today magazines.
I enjoyed my time representing our juniors in Phoenix. The convention continues to be a valuable resource for marketing the Limousin breed.
